An Bradoon bit is used in conjunction with a curb bit. The difference between an Bradoon bit and a regular bit lies in its thickness and the size of the rings.

The double-jointed Level 3 mouthpiece is designed to exert more direct pressure on the horse's bars. The central piece lies evenly on the horse's tongue. This makes one-sided aids more effective and quicker to communicate. The continuous rings ensure that the bit always finds a neutral position in the horse's mouth.

The sides should leave approximately one centimeter of space to the corner of the mouth. The horse can move the bit independently with its tongue.

    Effect:

    • Stronger pressure on the horse's bars and even pressure on the tongue
    • More direct effect with one-sided aids
    • The horse can move the bit independently in its mouth

    Mouthpiece:

    • Made of stainless steel
    • Stainless steel is durable, tasteless, and odorless

    Suitable For:

    • Horses that require slightly stronger aids on one side
    • This bit can also be used as a snaffle for ponies due to its size

    Association Approvals:

    • Eventing: FEI, USEF, USEA
    • Jumping: FEI, USEF, USEA

These approvals are the best information we have at this time, but correctness standards are ever evolving. Competitors are reminded that they are responsible for the correctness of their tack. If a rider is unsure of the correctness of any tack, it is the rider’s responsibility to confirm their equipment with the steward or technical delegate.
