The large D-Ring bit is characterized by its fixed ring. The sides are designed to lie about one centimeter closer to the corner of the horse's mouth compared to a water bit. The D-Ring prevents pinching of the mouth corners in the rings and offers stronger lateral guidance compared to an olive bit. The horse cannot push the bit upwards with its tongue, so the mouthpiece sits more steadily in the mouth and is slightly more stabilized laterally. Since the ring does not rotate, there is a minimal effect on the poll, though the large D-Ring slightly reduces this effect.

The double-jointed mouthpiece with tongue relief follows the natural shape of the horse's mouth and features a flat central piece. This design distributes the pressure more over the bars and reduces pressure on the tongue. The D-Ring provides lateral stabilization and guidance, creating calmness and stability in the horse's mouth. The Stainless Steel mouthpiece is completely odorless and tasteless, making it suitable for sensitive horses.

    Pressure Distribution:

    • Even pressure on the bars, reduced pressure on the tongue, light effect on the poll
    • Lateral stabilization and guidance

    Mouthpiece:

    • Made of stainless steel
    • Stainless steel is robust, odorless, and tasteless

Which horses are particularly suited for this bit?

    • Horses that tend to make one side firmer
    • Horses with normal mouthing activity
    • Horses that need lateral stability
    • Horses that play a lot with their tongue

    Association Approvals:

    • Eventing: FEI, USEF, USEA
    • Jumping: FEI, USEF, USEA

These approvals are the best information we have at this time, but correctness standards are ever evolving. Competitors are reminded that they are responsible for the correctness of their tack.
